Thie Field Museum
There is a skeleton of a dinosaur named Sue in the Field Museum. Can you tell me what type of dinosaur this is just by looking at her?

Is that my Great Grandcroc??

The American Girl Place
Kirby also got to meet some new friends at the American Girl Place in downtown Chicago.

Kirby getting settled on the plane
Hmm…I wonder how long the flight is from Raleigh to Chicago. You might have to do some digging to find this one.

My view from the window seat

Looking out of the Sears Tower
Good thing Kirby is not afraid of heights! The Sears Tower is the tallest building in the United States. Can you find out how tall it is??

Don't look down!

Wow! Looking down to the tops of buildings.

Kirby also got to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo where he saw some of his relatives!

Is that my relative under the water?

We’ll post the rest of the pictures in another post. Stay Tuned!

Hi everyone. Carlyle had a great opportunity to take in a practice round with 4th grader Patrick at the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, GA.
I didn’t get a chance to see the tournament, can you tell me which golfer won and what country he is from? What other facts can you tell me about the Masters?
Here are the pictures Carlyle sent back. Enjoy. - Kyle

Getting through check-in
Sometimes there can be bad weather at the tournament. If that happens people need to go inside to get out of danger. This sign tells people what to do if bad weather approaches (click the picture to see a larger image).

Augusta National Golf Course is a big place. You need signs and a map to find your way around.

Don't want to get lost

Where's Carlyle in the Magnolia Tree?

As always, Carlyle enjoys the snacks!

I thought you would be interested to see a map of where Kirby went in Asia (click on the picture to see a larger image). Thanks to Mr. Vanterpool for taking Kirby along for the ride. Kirby tells us he had a great time!

Hi everyone. Here is the last of Kirby’s trip through Asia. Enjoy!

Here we are back in Subic Bay in the Philippines. FedEx has a cargo base here, so we come here often. It was once a U.S. military base.

Kirby in Subic Bay
After Subic Bay, we moved on to Cebu in the southern part of the Philippines. It was a one-hour flight from Subic Bay to Cebu. We stayed in the Shangri La Hotel — one of the best hotels in Cebu. Cebu is an island. Can you find how long it is from north to south?

Kirby with a great view.

The beach at Cebu
From Cebu we moved on to China. We went to the city of Guangzhou in the southern part of China. There sure seemed to be a lot of people there. Can you find out what the population of Guangzhou is?

Our journey also took us to Singapore (hmmm…isn’t that the name of one of Sycamore’s busses??). Here are some pictures from that trip:

There is a lot of construction going on.
